Mertensia virginica - Virginia Blue Bells – These native plants have clump-forming habit producing clusters of pendulous, trumpet-shaped blue flowers. Blooms April/ May. Flower buds emerge with a pinkish cast before turning blue, then become summer dormant. The perfect spring ephemeral for the woodland garden- incorporate with native ferns and sedges.
