Hosta 'Lone Star' is a massive, shade-loving perennial known for its emerald-green leaves and vivid gold margins. This variety is a "sport" of the famous 'Key West' hosta and is prized for its impressive size and dramatic, vase-like growth habit. From Hans Hansen.
- Dimensions: Grows up to 28 inches tall and 56 inches wide.
- Foliage: Medium green center with broad, wavy yellow-to-gold margins and heavy veining.
- Flowers: Tall flower stalks (up to 51 inches) with near-white, bell-shaped blooms appearing in early to mid-summer.
- Light: Best in part to full shade (less than 4 hours of sun daily). Bright filtered shade helps intensify the gold margins.
- Spacing: Needs plenty of room; space plants 36–56 inches apart to allow for its massive spread.
