Ligularia dentata/ Leopard plant - purple & green plants!
Ligularia dentata - is a perennial that grows in clumps. It is grown for its foliage as much as for its flowers. The foliage is purple & green, huge, long-stalked, leathery, and rounded. Ligularia dentata grows best in morning or late afternoon sun with midday shade. It can also handle full shade, preferably dappled.
Features bold panicles of gold daisy flowers from late summer to early fall. Its attractive large serrated round leaves emerge deep purple in spring, turning dark green in color with curious purple undersides and tinges of deep purple throughout the season. It is an herbaceous perennial with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its wonderfully bold, coarse texture can be very effective in a balanced garden composition.
